When it comes to non-surgical treatments, it is quite a popular choice. From anti-aging to skin brightening, dermarolling is done in a variety of advanced, non-invasive skin treatments. In fact, we use it in PRP (platelet-rich plasama) therapy for hair loss as well. Dermarolling is a great way to create micro pathways in your skin for better product penetration. It also helps in skin rejuvenation, which results in smoother, more even skin.
Better penetration of products is one of its biggest benefits. With demarolling, we are able to reach the dermis (layer of skin) which helps in better absorption of products and increases the efficacy of the treatment. The results start showing up after 3-4 days of the treatment. Skin feels smoother, tighter and plumper.
Do not expect an immediate result. It takes more than two days to see visible results. Skin may feel rough right after the treatment. Some may also experience little redness. But all that is temporary. Since dermaroller has little needles, you may experience a little pain as well after the treatment. Local anesthesia is used on the skin before the treatment.
Avoid using dermaroller at home. Dermarolling is mostly used in advanced, non-invasive treatments and it requires certain amount of training, skill and experience. Simply looking into the mirror at your home while using dermarollers is not enough. With the help of dermarolling we peneterate a little deep in the skin, which requires an expert hand. If not done properly, it can damage your skin’s soft tissues. Also, you do not know how your skin will react to it. One has to be really careful. At Bharti Taneja’s Alps Beauty Clinic, dermarolling is only done by doctors.
Skin has to be completely cleaned of oil and dirt before starting dermarolling. Post-treatment, antiseptic cream needs to be applied twice a day at least. Always remember that new skin is more susceptible to infection so you need to be careful. Anyone with severe acne, eczema, psoriasis and warts should steer clear of dermarolling.
